FAQ

  • What is the most effective way to join DuFLEX panels?   To streamline the joining process, ATL Composites have developed the proprietary DuFLEX® Z-Press. This press applies heat and pressure to cure the epoxy adhesive used to bond the joint, and panel length can be increased at a rate of 1.2 lineal metres per join.

Lightweight Boat Construction & Building Panels

 20.4 KB image/jpeg

DuFLEX® Composite Panels were developed by ATL Composites in the early 1990's to reduce construction time and optimise structural weight in the production of lightweight composite structures in the marine, transportation, architectural and industrial markets.

Standard DuFLEX panels are lightweight structural panels, which are available with rigid end-grain balsa and structural linear or cross-linked foam cores, laminated with a high performance epoxy resin and reinforced with multi-axial E-fibreglass.

For boat construction and architectural projects where superior stiffness and weight savings are required, ATL can also manufacture custom DuFLEX Composite panels with combinations of carbon skins cored with structural or non-structural foams, select grade end grain balsa, or aramid honeycomb cores.
